Pico de Orizaba

Last year as our Soldiers to the Summit expedition was trekking through Nepal I had the pleasure of meeting someone who I now consider a friend, Kevin Noe. Kevin and I have hooked up to do a couple of mountains here in Colorado this year and it has been a pleasure getting to know him. While on Kelso ridge Kevin asked me if I would like to join him on an expedition to Mexico to climb Pico de Orizaba.

Pico de Orizaba is also called Citlaltépetl Is the highest mountain in Mexico and the third highest mountain in North America standing at 18,500 feet. It also holds the distinction of being the 7th most prominent mountain in the world and the highest volcano in North America. Friday, Kevin and I will fly to Mexico City and then take a bus ride to the mountain and if all lines up correctly we will summit on the 10th. Who knows what is in store between now and then but I am really excited for another opportunity at another amazing peak!

I would like to thank my sponsor for this trip, Zero Vapor. They are the builders and managers of this fine website and I appreciate them believing in me enough to offer sponsorship for this climb. If you are in the market for a website or mobile app talk to these guys. Thanks Michael and Tim for all that you do for me! Keep up the great work.

Wish me luck!
