Last year I documented the training regiment that I was going through to train for Soldiers to the Summit. It was intense. Over the course of this year I have been trying a few different things outside of the gym to stay in shape and it has worked but I have felt the need to get back to the gym and start training again.

Last year I had the privilege of being a part of the expedition of a lifetime, Soldiers to the Summit. The expedition was a 10 year celebration of Erik Weihenmayer’s ascent of Mt Everest and to honor Veterans for their service. The trip consisted of 10 Erik’s Mt Everest summit team and 11 wounded veterans. I was honored to be one of the 11 veterans on this transformative trip. Work continues on our upcoming film High Ground as we cross our fingers for Sundance Film Festival.

I love ice climbing. It is such a removal from the world where most of us opperate on a daily basis. I understand that a lot of people think that climbing is crazy and dangerous. It is but I submit that it is less dangerous than driving. Having said that accidents do happen and when they do they tend to be serious. I ran acroos this video on You Tube documenting these two climbers as something went bad and they rescued themselves. This was sketchy and they are lucky but good for them on getting themselves out of a bad situation.
I ran across this picture of Samson and I skiing and I wanted to share it. As some of you know I have two dogs who are very much in different stages of life. Bogart is my old man. He is content with his 1/2 mile walks every other night and chill’n in his kennel. Samson on the other hand needs to be active.
